Disabling Non-Webmail access restricts the access to the mailbox by scripts and mail clients (like MS Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail) using the IMAP, POP3, and SMTP protocols. With Non-Webmail access disabled, connections to the mailbox over IMAP/POP3/SMTP are not allowed, and you would only be able to access the account via Webmail Classic and Roundcube. When combined with two-factor authentication, this can make your mail account even more secure.

The Non-Webmail access can be controlled per mailbox via the Webmail Classic, and Roundcube interfaces. Here is how you can do it step-by-step:

Roundcube

The Non-Webmail access can be disabled via the Roundcube Webmail > Settings menu > Non-Webmail Access > press the Disable button next to "Non-Webmail access is enabled".

Roundcube Webmail Non-Webmail Access
