New hosting plans

In our company history, we have always had one great asset - loyal customers and resellers, leading to an exceptionally high renewal rate. However, sometimes a customer may leave our service, or a reseller may decide to host their end-user elsewhere, simply because the site in question is not suitable for any of our hosting plans and servers.

With the thought in mind to meet the needs of more of our current customers and resellers, today we added three more hosting plans to our hosting portfolio.

The Business Plus plan is an upgrade of our Business plan, and it is designed to meet the needs of customers with heavy sites on shared-hosting servers, who are not ready yet to move to a VPS or another dedicated solution. The Business Plus plan comes with tripled available CPU and MySQL resources, as well as with larger-size mailboxes. This makes it suitable for more popular and resource-demanding websites.

Also, we are launching a separate development-type platform - WebApps. It already supports Node.js out of the box. Customers are also able to set up and run custom daemon-based services, such as Django, MongoDB, Go, and others. The platform comes with two separate plans, WebApps and WebApps Pro, which are designed to meet the needs of most Node.js projects.

We hope that the extension of our hosting portfolio will allow more customers to stay with us. Also, we hope that the new plans will provide our resellers with more options to expand their business and to manage it more easily.

Increased discounts on new hosting purchases

We would like to annouce that our discounts table was updated today, and the discounts for new hosting services are increased. All existing customers and resellers can now get new hosting services at an even lower price.

Customers with one account can now order their next hosting account with 40% discount, instead of the previous 20% discount. Resellers with six or more accounts up until now were getting 50% discount on new purchases, and this discount is now increased to 90%.

We hope that the increased discounts on new hosting purchases will allow our customers and resellers to expand their business further.

The complete discounts table is available here:

Free hosting for educational institutions

Education is among the top priorities of modern mankind. Understanding the need everyone contribute to this objective in any possible way, we have decided that educational institutions will no longer pay for hosting services on our servers. Instead, they can simply use our Hosting Plan for Educational Institutions.

Starting today, any school, college, or university that provides formal education, no matter in which part of the world, can host their official website or a site supporting their activities at no cost on our servers.

Full information about our educational hosting can be found on this page:

HTTP/2 available on all servers

HTTP/2 is a major revision of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol. It provides improved network communication and decreased latency, which makes it much faster than HTTP/1.1. HTTP/2 is supported by all modern browsers.

As of today, HTTP/2 is available on all our servers and hosting plans, including shared servers. It is available only through SSL/HTTPS, as the browsers supporting HTTP/2 do not allow non-encrypted communication over HTTP/2. Therefore, it is advisable all customer sites to have SSL certificates enabled, so that visitors can access them over HTTP/2. All security certificates, including the free Let's Encrypt certificates available in the Control Panel, fully support HTTP/2.

Privacy policy and GDPR

In the whole history of ICDSoft, we have always considered that treating customers with respect is something very important. This includes keeping the privacy of our customers at a highest level, and not using their personal data for anything else than for the provision of the services they pay for.

As of today, the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union comes into effect. This regulation aims at protecting the privacy of EU citizens, but it also has a serious effect on how companies around the world would collect and manage personal data.

Revising the GDPR and the actions we needed to take to comply with it, we found out that the adjustments we had to make to the way we manage user data were close to none. We have never disclosed the personal data of our hosting customers to any third parties - the only exceptions are when this data should be used for domain registrations and SSL certificates. We have never made profiles of our customers, so that we target them with specific offers. We have never made marketing campaigns, filling our customers' emails with bulk offers. Thus, it turned out that we were following the basic principles of GDPR long before the GDPR existed.

Still, to confirm the way we collect and manage personal data, we have updated our Privacy policy, and you can check it here:
